Cousin Bill, now you know why a local supplier or one of the well 
trusted mail order suppliers (aka Richmond Controls) could have helped 
you find the correct type of LED.  My local electronics store has a 
whole display board showing of dozens of different styles of LED's to 
choose from.
They cost a bit more but it helps to know what your getting.
