Thanks to a final push from folks following my recent email "status report",
I'm pleased to announce that I've reached the "magic number" to make the SAL
B7 "turtleback" boxcar a "done deal" in S scale. I will be emailing all who
have unpaid reservations shortly . it's time to ante-up to make your
reservation a firm order.

As I've stated all along, the HO CAD files must exist before it's larger
cousin can be produced in S. The SAL B7 is no different. The HO design
will start in late June; the S version right after I receive HO patterns so
that I can verify everything is "proper" before buying larger dupes. I
cannot predict an exact delivery month for the S version because my decal
source, who has graciously agreed to come out of retirement to create this
set for me in HO and S, has a new job that requires travel away from home
between late May and mid-October. If possible, he may be able to print some
HO and S sets before heading out; I've emailed him today but it'll be
tonight before I get a reply. This will not stop me from producing patterns
and castings for either scale so, assuming, S sets won't be available until
October, boxed kits will stack up here awaiting their arrival, then shipped
immediately.

We're not done yet. I will ONLY order enough decals and produce ONLY enough
kits to cover PAID-IN-FULL reservations, including those reserved by
dealers. DO NOT assume you can order a kit from me in June and still get it
'cause you won't. Payment-in-full must be received by SMMW by Tuesday, May
31st to guarantee your order. Whomever has paid in full in time to reach me
by 5/31 will be guaranteed their order; after that, no more orders will be
accepted, so you'll have to get 'em from dealers or from a friend who may
have an extra. For inventory reasons, particularly decal printing (which is
VERY expensive and has a short shelf live), I cannot afford to sit on dead
inventory month after month. The nature of resin kits is usually based on
"limited runs" . this kit is no different so don't be a late-comer to the
party and miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime offer from SMMW.

I'm MOST appreciative to those who stepped up to the plate to make John
Degnan's "boxcar project" come to life. Now, complete what you've started
by sending in payment to "seal the deal".

Thanks to everyone who has been involved "spreading the word".
