Over the past two weeks, I've been working on incorporating an SMOD module into
my home layout. To my surprise, I got more than I expected when I started.
Initially, I'd hoped to unclutter the garage a bit while adding some temporary
real estate to my home layout by connecting one of my SMOD yard modules to the
layout.
The module would not fit where my layout development plan called for it to go,
so I put it where it would fit, and started to build the small sections of
benchwork that would connect it some industry stubs on the layout that never
got completed -- building SMODs had intervened and changed my focus. As the
"temporary" yard started to take form, it suddenly dawned on me that it might
just be possible to swap the location for the yard with the new industry stubs
on the layout plan, which would mean I could leave the SMOD module in the
layout permanently with only some minor tweaks to the final trackplan.
I've uploaded a dozen photos of what I'm describing to the photos area in a
folder called "Peter G's Layout" if anyone's interested in having a look.
Perhaps the biggest benefit is that I'm now very encouraged to finish up the
current project and to get on to the next phase of layout expansion.
Regards...
Peter
