I chose 10 containers because: That was the number of containers I got when I bought the American Models gondola included in the sale. There is a balsa wood fixture in the bottom of the car to hold the containers in place. It was made for 10 containers - not 12. I did not know about the American Flyer/12 containers thing until after I announced the project. I hear 10 is a popular number. Something about the decimal system. I have a special deal for those with a lot of American Flyer gondolas. Buy 6 sets and I promise to include enough containers to FILL 5 A F Gilbert gondolas and not have any left over. I really do try and accommodate the S market.
