Well...

Whilst involved during some "S"erious "missionary" work over at the OGR forum,
not only did I seem to influence one O scale 2 railer of just what a great
scale this is, but apparently, I've also convinced myself again, to boot. To
wit: I'm beginning to feel the stirrings to renew tinkering with my S scale
efforts.

(Wow... I still can't believe it.)

Anyway...

Last couple days, I have been fine-tuning some trackwork, re-evaulating what to
do with my "can't find my salvaged electrical stuff in the heaped and tumbled
attic that's too hot to search again in right now anyway" dilemma, as well as
assessing just exactly where I've piled and stashed all my S stuff.

One of the cool things about being inactive for a long time is that you find
stuff you didn't even remember you had. To date, my S scale collection has
suddenly grown mentally by rediscovering:

* An extra SHW SW9 I didn't know I had. (Cool.)
* A pile of CDS dry transfers for KC roads of the 40's/50's/60's.
* A mondo-pile of Enhorning decals for same.
* Detail parts for SHS SW/NW's, AM Baldwin S-12's, and AM GP's.
* Track laying products by the packs.
* Other assorted mini-discoveries.

Amazing.

A downside, though: I can't find the headblocks for my Tomalco switches.

I removed them to ease installation, intending to reinstall them when the
manual switch throws were to be installed. Well, thus far, those have eluded
me. However, I still haven't attacked that God-awful north bench area of my
layout. Not much telling WHAT I'll find in that heap of HO, S, On30, 3 rail,
and other assorted "junque", maybe even including creepy-crawly things. (I did
find a Freightliner 2011 calender that included pics of scantilly clad women...
oh, and some trucks, too.)

Anyway, I must admit it has been fun going through my stuff and seeing it "new"
all over again.

Finding that stack of Enhoning decals, those little manilla colored envelopes
with text and line drawings on them brought back very pleasant memories of when
I was a lad in KC busily engaged in my first efforts at painting and decaling
my growing HO collection. In fact, I still get transported to those times
whenever I open a bottle of Solvaset! (Don't tell anybody, but a few minutes
ago I opened a bottle of Solvaset and took a whif. Instant memories. OMG,
does this make me a "huffer"???)

Anyway... it's going to be interesting to see where this leads... and I find it
quite amusing that IF it does develop into a bit of progress, then did I type
myself into being motivated to model????

Ah well...

Happy 4th all you Yanks here in the USA!
