I think these are the cars that the D&RGW cut down to make narrow gauge pipe 
gondolas.  Several are still at Chama.  They form the basis for the open air 
cars on the Durango and Silverton.  Also, there is an intact standard gauge car 
at Antonito.

Mather? I am pretty sure Ron Sebastian told me the kit is a Fowler box car. 
What I saw was an outside-braced, single-sheathed body, typical of a Fowler box 
car.
