When I was about 12 years old riding in an SP GP9 we hit a car.Looking
back on it it was probably almost a brand new car . It came at a high rate of
speed from the fireman's side where I was sitting and disappeared in front.I
felt no jolt but heard a bang as the loco squibb kicked it down the road a
couple hundred feet to the right. Luckily for the driver it was a glancing blow
and he wasn't killed. The train stopped about a quarter mile down the road and
I bailed off and thanked the crew for the ride and walked on home to the yard
while they walked back to make their report...DaveBranum
