Ming the muser...just a thought from the peanut gallery.
My freelance road concept, Caribou & Sierra Falls, has been with me since I
was 15. A teen trip to Colorado firmly established it, Caribou, what's
left, being west of Nederland and Sierra Falls an imaginary place in my
head. We're a 85 mile semi-regional, connecting on the north end with UP
and D&RGW on the south end. We're broke, rails in the dirt, every trip
requires two pairs of underwear by the crew. But we're gonna make
money...next year.
By freelancing, I do what I want to do, yet, when on the short pieces of
UP/Rio Grande, standards must reflect such.
All that to say...imho, you'd miss your road. You're in a great position to
run offline roads, all 13 of them. Nice variety, an enviable place to be.
Just less than two cents worth...
