You need to be ever so careful in choosing your overspray.  I'll never forget
the time I carefully created a NYC two-one grey NYC lightning-stripe job on a
brass diesel with Floquil paint, ready to overspray with gloss before applying
the decal striping and lettering.  This was during the era when Floquil had
just reformulated their paints.  I oversprayed with Testor's gloss, which
INSTANTLY attacked the Floquil, not only crazing it, but also expanding it into
giant flakes!

At a somewhat later date, I sprayed an electric body with Floquil, then -- when
cured -- masked and oversprayed with Scalecoat.  The result came out fine, but
it took a MONTH to dry thoroughly!

The moral is:  Test first!
