While we're on the topic of structures, I recall that Frank Titman had a review
of DPM modular parts in the S-Gaugian many years ago. He built a very
creditable structure out of the parts. I think he said it cost Eighty Dollars
or so to purchase all the parts. I've never tried the DPM stuff; but if what
Frank did is any indication, they're worth the price.

Subject: {S-Scale List} As August comes to an end

You can almost feel the change of season here in the north country. While I
have been spending most of my time outside, I have been working on some
structures that I
have had in progress too long. I saw a long string of posts on structures.
the American Model Builders grain elevator was mentioned. I think that is a
fantastic kit, I wish I had a couple more of them. My focus for the last bit
has been brick urban buildings like I see in the turn of the century industrial
areas of the Twin Cities. I found the Imagine That line last summer and I have
been building these structures with their components. While at the NMRA, I
mentioned that I liked their building concept but could not use their buildings
as designed. I also mentioned I use more flats that full buildings. They have
allowed me to buy wall sections and even to modify some of their wall sections
to do what I needed. In addition, I use a little strip wood to raise a
foundation or wall cap just to provide a different look. I have been very
pleased with the results. I will post updated photos in the mhry west photos.
I have been left alone too long with my thoughts and now I think I am going to
make another line change. Not as serious as a complete rebuild but what I feel
will be a small but significant change to create a little smoother operation
and facilitate interchange.

You folks out east have been in my thoughts this weekend. Stay safe and dry.

Well enjoy the final weeks of summer, I have some negative progress to make on
the layout so I am out of here! By the way if anyone out in the wide world
sees Steve Doyle, send him home. He has been traveling too long.
