Hi Jim and all --

Yes, this has been a desperate time for all the folks living along rivers in
the northeast. I saw on the TV that the Hershey zoo had to put down some
animals that they could not rescue from high water. Wilkes-Barre was looking
like it was about to go under... Same for Binghamton, which our local TV
talking head called Bing-Hampton.

We wish ALL you folks back there good luck with this!
Bill Winans
Prescott Valley (where we got rain today, but are in no danger of flooding)
---------------------------------

Bill's saga probably goes on, the area he lives in has really been hit hard
over the last 48 hours. Possibly 10 to 12 inches of rain, in areas near
him.. Major roads closed and damaged, major flooding, etc. I am not sure
exactly where he lives, but many of the roads in the area are closed,
including the PA Turnpike as of 5 PM. Hershey Park is under water. AMTRAK
hasn't run the Keystone Main for 2 days, trees in catenary, not enough
diesels to cover it, IF it were open. At least two deaths so far. Fire Depts
from 30 to 40 miles away going in to help pump out basements. Hershey is
flooding, Harrisburg is flooding, some flooding in York, flooding in
Lebanon, Marietta, Columbia, etc.
