Dear Chuck,
I am surprised you did not send this request directly to us. OK, the problem
is in the gasket between the speaker and the tender floor, it has become
distorted. You need to remove the two screws next to the front tender truck
that hold the tender to the chassis. You need to remove the sound unit that
plugs into the socket. The LM has 4 screws that hold the pcb to the standoffs.
DCC interface pcb usually does not have screws as the plug seems to hold into
the socket quite well, but may need to be carefully rocked to remove. Now,
remove the 3 screws that hold the speaker to the chassis. Once the speaker is
removed, you will see the black "O" gasket. You should see where it was
distorted. I use the heat from my hands to warm the gasket and then replace it
on the chassis. Once seated, I replace the speaker then screws. Remember that
the sound unit MUST be plugged in correctly, if not, it can be damaged when
power is applied.
Please let me know if additional help is needed.
Don
