If BTS has them now, what is the part number for the package; I do not see it
on my lists. DJE

I just now remembered that Southwind Models offered a detailed parts
package for the FAs and FBs. I have a pair of them but will probably never
use
them. I am not sure where I have them stored but I think I can find them
and offer them for sale or trade.

Ok, Don says it was 1990... so let me see if I can remember what models
were coming out in HO around that same time so I can compare the quality of
them to the AM shell. Let's see, now.. where is my 1990 Walthers catalog...
  ... ?

Oh well, can't seem to locate the catalog right now... but I suspect the
HO offerings were about equal based on my recent review of an AM FB-2 shell.

My biggest gripe (so far) with the AM shell is the fact that the ladder
steps (below the side sill) bend inward (all 6 of them at different angles,
go figure) instead of staying inline with the shell. Also, as someone else
also mentioned, the details (door handles, etc) seem to be a bit petite (too
small and/or not pronounced well enough)... except the rivets which, to
me, seem about right. I am, however, impressed that the inner framing detail
  behind the grilles/screens is represented.

I'm happy to say that the shell looks down right decent to me so far...
but more thoughts on the shell coming later...
