Subject: {S-Scale List} Houston happenings!

      Friends,

Houston has always had if difficulties with any kind of mass transit.

The most vocal people seem to be against it. When a light rail system

was first started--it was called Mayor Brown's toy train or his electric

train set! The line is now expanding, but last night a short news

segment showed the original line shut down by an electrical short. Sort

of reminds me of when we set up our modules, where over 90% of our

problems are a short of one kind or another! It's frustrating, at

times, to solve the problem when the public wants to see trains run--now

the big guys are having the same problem.

With that in mind, a few track layers and myself spent much of Saturday

spiking down track on my two new modules. I'll probably end up with

about 50' of track and 5 turnouts in a 12' run. Our dry heat wave, now

combined with some rain now has created a swamp like atmosphere so it's

area fans in my garage to keep things sane! We've got a fairly large

show coming up in three weeks, so the pressure is on.
