One of my `S'-scale marine projects is a Lindberg PT-boat that I am converting
into the party boat/cabin cruiser named the `Phoenix', which itself was created
by modifying a surplus PT-boat, specifically, one that had not been deployed
overseas.
One of the modifications made to this boat to "civilianize" it was the addition
of a handrail around the edge of the deck.
I remember helping my father and Bill Daiker install brass handrail stations on
his RS-3, and think that these handrail stations would work perfectly on my
model.
There stations included a post with a cylindrical hole through which brass wire
would be threaded.
I remember Bill telling me that the difference between the Alco and GE handrail
stations were that the GE type handrail stations were made from a single piece
of flat metal, that was bent into a loop at the top whereas the Alco type is a
post with an cylinder on the top.
If any of you know where I could find this type of handrail station, please
tell me.
BTW; I can't remember if these were actually `S'-scale parts or if Bill and my
father were borrowing from HO
.
