Jace, The mention of re-melted scrap would be the case if it sat for years first, probably never drops to room temperature before it gets used again and does not sit and oxidize for extended periods of time. Today’s casting metals as well as everything else have vastly improved over the years and raw materials are just that even when gleaned from old products, properly cleaned and fluxed they work just fine again. Nobody uses Zamac anymore for anything I know of. It was a very cheap material compared to what is used today. I have a good feeling Kadee cleans the dross (technical term for slag that floats to the top of the metal) from the pot before casting.
