Great to know that you are moving forward in your new-found scale and enjoying 
it!

Converting an O layout to S should be a quick way to get up running, with the 
advantages of longer trains and better operation (and more expansive scenery 
appearance).

This weekend the Connecticut S Gaugers are meeting a member's layout which was 
converted from HO to S, and mostly worked very well (some areas needed or are 
going to be re-worked), so such a change is very possible, depending on the 
design.
