Hi John; Great to know that you are moving forward in your new-found scale and enjoying it!
Converting an O layout to S should be a quick way to get up running, with the advantages of longer trains and better operation (and more expansive scenery appearance). This weekend the Connecticut S Gaugers are meeting a member's layout which was converted from HO to S, and mostly worked very well (some areas needed or are going to be re-worked), so such a change is very possible, depending on the design. I have three video's from earlier visits on my You Tube page, http://youtu.be/Ks5Qs5l8qCg http://youtu.be/bOMya9_WU6Q http://youtu.be/sATdHviVMmE Pieter E.
