Hi --

I can’t say why they did what they did for whatever reason, other than they 
wanted a 4-4-0.   No doubt the National Park Service probably wouldn’t lend 
them theirs.   The V&T 4-4-0s are still running intermittently, but are not 
allowed off home rails when it was discovered how Hollywood treated them.   V&T 
#22 was running in Corson City when I was there just prior to the Sac’to 
convention (July 3), and the docent didn’t have much good to say about what had 
happened to her in Southern CA, other than she is now the second oldest running 
loco in the US (1875?) because she wasn’t scrapped when Hollywood called.
