I don't know if you looked at your December MR yet, but the editorial
summarizes a survey.  And 81% were in HO, which has models of more train
stuff than any other scale including modern stuff like gensets, so they
would be able to skew the results.  I assume that some people model more
than one era because it adds up to more than 100%, but it came out as:

62% 1946-1960
35% 1961-1971
29% 1972-1989
6% 1800's
Each of the other time periods 15-20%

Note the post-WWII era transition era was still the favorite of those in the
survey.

In my case, the premise of my layout kind of fizzles after about 1930, which
is over 20 years before I was born.

It will at least determine the average age of those who actively participate

in the group.

But then, to really have something meaningful, I'd like to our results 
compared with the average age of those active in scales where modern / 
contemporary cars, locos, &c are available.
