Seems as though cousin Bill has come up with a winner!

One thing to keep in mind, as Bill indicates below, is the extra weight 
compressing the springs prototypically.  Be careful, because now it's 
possible for the Kadee decender, glad hand or air hose to now get caught 
on switches and auto crossings--ask me how I know!
