Hi there! ...Speaking of a pumping station, I have photos of such a structure that was built in 1887 to avoid floodings of the area around DeLorimier street, in Montreal. It is still standing, albeit abandoned, and is very photogenic. The station is located next to Jacques Cartier bridge... and for the beer afficionados in here, it is near from the Molson brewery ;)
The pumping station is not very large... maybe 40x60 feet in size... with a beautiful chimney... I should mention that at one time it was for sale and I was very interested in buying it... one major problem though: it is located on the CENTER portion of Autoroute Ville-Marie/Notre Dame street [4 way lanes on both sides] with cars running at 45Mph on either side, aargh!
