On this particular model, the boilers sit exposed and, while there's no visible
piping to show how this is done*, the steam is piped to pistons that are not
visible, before the "push rods" emerge from the rear of this engine.

On the original model, the non-visible pistons were actually an electric motor
that powered an intricate (barely visible) gearbox that created the "pumping"
motion of the pushrods. Unfortunately, the "gearbox" actually consisted of
pulleys and rubberbands, instead of actual gears. I just got done rebuilding
it with actual gears and, since it can be seen through the windows, am just
waiting to paint and weather this gearbox before I install it in the model.

Once I finish painting the gearbox, I'll be ready to install the boilers so I
was hoping to start detailing them soon…

Would any of you have suggestions for improving the detail on these boilers?

If possible, could you also mention the manufactures from which I could get
these pieces…I usually don't build steam engines so I'm unfamiliar with the
steam detail part manufactures…
