Amen to promoting S scale through more magazine articles. Also get those scale
layouts to train shows and talk to people. Changing the name of NASG will not
get rid of the AF connection. Any serious scale modeler knows that there are
scale trains in every size. I keep hearing about the confusion factor, but in
the hundred or so train shows I have participated in, the only people I have
heard this from are non model railroaders who just remember toy trains like AF
and Lionel around Christmas trees. I suspect that what some of this you may be
hearing from scale modelers is just a dig because you are not in their favorite
scale, just like the old AF / Lionel competition. No matter what you do the AF
heritage of S is not going to go away. Get out there and show people the
advantages of S scale.
