Don....They do not actually "over ride" the DCC power booster, they just act
faster than it does. With several of the DCC circuit breakers, the layout can
be divided up into large electrical sections. Sort of like blocks, only
bigger. When a short occurs, the DCC circuit breaker shuts down ONLY the
section to which it is wired. The remainder of the layout remains operational
with no ill effects. The DCC circuit breaker simply shuts down so fast that
the power booster never sees the short circuit and just keeps chugging along
providing juice to everything else. Neat, eh? Cheers...Ed L.
