Sure, Pieter... I agree all the way around.  I'm just saying that the sales of
a small detail/accessory part can't be used to judge the amount of return that
would come from something such as a diesel.  Maybe I read too much in Bill's
post, but that was the first impression I got from his comment (the part about
ord ers falling at your feel ).  My fault if I read too deep into that.

I have actually tried the Google Sketch-Up software and it really is VERY
simple to use... although I did not spend more than about 30 minutes with it on
my first sitting.  I was not aware, however, that Sketch-Up drawings were
usable by Shapeways.  Good info... and maybe the start of something big for me
(and S).

Hello John;

I suspect Bill was pushing back a bit at the idea that this was really
quick/easy/cheap process. There is still work involved.

Before someone jumps in with a GP40, you might want to try the process with
something smaller, say a nose and radiator section to make the AM U25B into a
later U23B (I don't know that is all that would be needed, just an example) or
maybe a new type of door or car end.

For those not wanting to duplicate Bill's investment, the Shapeways site has
info on doing the 3D work in Google's free, on-line SketchUp software >
http://sketchup.google.com/intl/en/ < and converting the resulting files to
something usable by Shapeways. I have not done this, so I can't speak about how
effective it is.
