Michael, I have seen the following charts before but can never keep track of them so I do a quick Google search for "rail size chart":
http://urbaneagle.com/data/RRrailsizes.html As per the second chart on the page, code 70 is about 65 pound rail (which I am using for my 1885 tracks), code 83 is approximately 85 pound rail, and code 100 is about 115 pound rail. More or less. The actual dimensions are dependent on the rail manufacturer (prototype) and the standards they followed, which also depends on era. The chart at: http://www.s-scale.org.uk/rails.htm is an almost exclusive list of prototype rail dimensions in S scale. So if you can find the specific rail you are modeling, you will know the model dimensions in S scale. Hope these help.
