I took a look at my Smoky Mountain Model Works Southern waffle-sided boxcar
last night for the first time.
I am not much of a builder so any kit will be a challenge to me. I am
impressed with what I perceive to be the most detailed set of instructions I
have ever seen on such a kit. It is several pages long and has lots of
photos. I tip my hat to Jim King for providing these instructions.
I am a Southern Railway modeler so I would like to be able to complete this
kit. But I would like to get some feedback from some of you who may have
completed this car.
I have had one very skilled model builder who has declined to build this
car for me because of the difficulty of applying the decals over the waffled
sides. And if it would be a challenge for him, then it might be "mission
impossible" for me. I may try anyway.
I you have completed one of these kits, including application of decals, I
would appreciate your feedback.
