The photos I have posted should demonstrate that Walthers couplers have little, 
if any, more slack action than Kadee's, and, at any rate, a whole lot less than 
the SHS couplers, even without the spring action.

This is not to denigrate the SHS coupler. I believe the spring action could be 
employed to provide automatic spacing of close-coupled passenger equipment on 
curves, but I haven't tried it, myself

Nor are they necessary using the craft magnet uncoupling system I employ on 
SHABBONA RR
