Guys,

While this car is road-specific to Southern, it does resemble other unit
coal gons over the years. I have produced nearly 1000 of these HO over the
past many years but never gave much thought to an S scale version because
(1) it's modern (built 1960), (2) is road-specific and (3) didn't
interchange.

If there is interest in seeing this car in S, I would consider producing a
limited run of body-only kits at as low of a price as possible. A kit would
include a 1-pc resin body, underframe, cast details, brass weight, decals
(Vermillion and Green) and instructions. Applicable trucks are my 100-ton
Barber's (or something else to suit your preference). I would consider
designing brake gear parts and including those as urethane castings but
steps, brake wheel, grabs and ladders won't be included.

I think I can make this kit (as outlined above) for about $40 each if I can
get at least 50 reservations. Since the HO CAD files exists, it's only a
matter of upscaling them, making some tweaks to more accurately S scale
dimensions, then buying SLAs (that's the expensive part).

Go to my web site to see the HO pilot model and 2 proto pix. Here's the
