Hi Guys:

A great New Year's resolution for me would be to have more work-bees with the
guys I hang out with.  A lot tends to get done that way, and has been noted,
there are so few of us around, that it's worth inventing our own social
occasions.

Happy New Year to all

Jim Martin

Hi all --

Ken’s report on last night’s doings at his place reminded me that this is
Friday.

I had an S scale guy up from Scottsdale yesterday, Nelson Steinmetz. He has a
layout a bit larger than mine, all ATSF and fully sceniced. There are a few
(very few) of us in AZ... We had a good time running trains and a loco he
brought with him. The railroad behaved exceptionally well with no gremlins
lurking.

This week I also got cracking on bringing the narrow gauge line down from Coal
Creek. Made lots of sawdust out on the front porch cutting risers and
subgrade... I am slowly working my way through the pile of benchwork stuff I
brought over from the old SLE&P in CA. Pretty soon I will be able to clear
out the trainroom and garage of all the scrap lumber!

Also done this week were several NASG items. The one that the general
population will see pretty soon is a new face and organization for the NASG
website. Peter Vanvliet has been working on this, and his expertise shows.
We hope to have the initial changes in place by the end of January, but real
life does get in the way of volunteer efforts on occasion.

I hope everyone has a great new year’s celebration (well, not TOO great!) and a
fine new year.

....Speaking of the PPSSW, this was truely an amazing night, there was a great
deal of work done in the Workshop. Guys brought projects of their own, others
worked on the layout and at the end of the night almost as much was done as
said.
So nice to be in S Scale where guys are so friendly and get along well.
I wish everyone a happy and peaceful new year. Keep the wheels rolling and the
rails shining. I gotta go, I am helping Steve Doyle on his layout today, he has
Model Tech things to show me but I doubt he has anything solid on the U-33.
