Pieter, Good news, it's about time! As far as I know, attachments with Emails will need to be sent using your email program, rather than posting them through your browser using the Yahoo Groups software, but it will allow attachments to be seen by all in the group(including those who get their messages through Daily Digest and Web Only options), not just the ones getting their message sent directly to their email "in" box.
Given the system of handling attachments that Yahoo has been using for several years now, I can think of no valid reason not to keep the attachments activated.
