The idea of a flat parts rather than a one piece shell seems fair. The one
piece shell is nice but I don't see the flat parts as an issue, just means a
little more work, but then it's easier than scratch building.
Could flat parts lend themselves to other versions such as 50ft cars or
generate additonal sales as scratch building aides. The other benefit would be
a lessor price which should make it easier to hit a minimum order target
