Dear Ed,
We made that custom run for a vendor. They were not part of our regular line
and are uncatalogued. I know I only got to wave to you yesterday as you walked
by. I was on my way to another building for a meeting. I am sorry we did not
get to talk.

I did see a few new things this year. I have a B&O 0-6-0 on order from Dan
of River Raisin and was happy to see the pilot model. Very nice. Dan said we
should see these next month. I had not seen the DesPlaines Fowler boxcar and
was impressed. I was happy to learn that these will be available in the near
future as well as the X29. Other items Ron had were all of the X29 door
versions and the new parts for the SD45 (the cooling fans are very nice). Ron
had a U33c on display and the Bristol club was running the Conrail version on
the layout. My time away from the booth was limited this year so I was not
able to find any new laser building kits in S. Did anyone else find something
new?
For me the biggest surprise was when our own Pieter Roos showed us some of
our modified freight cars. Nothing pleases me more than to see someone take
one of our cars and improve on our effort. He showed me a weathered PRR X26
USRA single sheathed boxcar that he back dated. It was superb. I wish all of
our cars would have that level of detail and weathering. Thank you for
bringing it over for us to see.
Don
