It was. I had cut off a car on the house track at 2 dark 30 AM Lockport, IL, 
and the engine was pulling away. About the same time, we found out by 
experience that Santa Fe was equipping the GP-20's with a "fast start" feature 
for switching. That was an improvement, but I'd certainly have appreciated a 
head's up.

To make sure this stays focused, I spent part of the afternoon ballasting the 
switch lead at Mooar Yard. Came up with some techniques that I might have to 
brag about one of these days. One thing for sure; after using commercial model 
railroad ballast, I have a new appreciation for Iowa "Durght"
