David, TC & S-friends,

I have been chasing pole roads for several years now. Here is a link to my
collection of images. If there is anything improperly documented, I apologize
- please send me any corrections required.

@David: Here are a couple of ideas for Class A Climax inspirations.

1). Several years ago a generic plan for a large scale, two-truck, free-lanced
Class A Climax appeared as the centerfold plan of Garden Railway Magazine.
When I get back to my real computer, I'll send the exact citation.

2). Dallas at Boulder Valley Models has a kit for an On30 Class A Dunkirk that
is based on the Athearn SW-1500 chassis. This chassis has 3-part drive axles,
making it easy to regauge. I used American Models passenger wheelsets, cut them
in half and reinserted them into the central portion of the Athearn axle,
adjusted to 1:64 std gauge. I'm also going to replace the steel strip
connecting the trucks with a soldered wire for better performance.

My 1:64 plans include adding the brass sheaves of curtain rod pulleys to the
Bachmann On30 trolley powerblock to create a cousin to the Arkansas Traveler.
In 1:24, I'm doing the same thing to the Aristocraft RS-3 powerblock. Battery
power with radio-control should be no problem in 1:64 wide gauge. I have a
LOSI board and battery in the cargo compartment of the Matchbox Acorn Moving &
Storage (also in my gallery) which is powered by one of the old single Bachmann
GE 44-tonner powerblocks.

Keep in touch.
