Dave, Other than the smaller radiator sections (and thus no radiator "wings"), the U30C is virtually the same as the U33C externally. At the time the U30C, U33C, and U36C locomotives were produced, GE was purchasing the frame casting for the 3-axle floating bolster truck from at least two different suppliers. These truck frame castings when built up into complete trucks could be used interchangeably, although usually the same supplier's casting would be used on an order of locomotives.
