    Bob,   The old Perma bilt stamped ladders can be greatly improved by both 
filing the rungs smaller and filing the width of the stiles down. I used to 
roll the top of the stile ends over a small drill to get that curl seen on 
prototype stiles. Just so you know, if it makes any difference to you, these 
are 8 rung ladders, used by many roads but not all.
