Bill,
I guess it depends on your definition of winning.  Articles about 3 rail or AF 
clones are of no interest to me.  Nor are they of any interest to anyone 
considering switching from HO or N.  My definition of winning is to grow the 
Scale side of S.  I'll let others follow the health of S Gauge toys.  There is 
a reason why there are 2 different S Yahoo groups.  There is also a reason why 
there is an O Scale magazine (OST which I subscribe to) ,and an O Gauge 
magazine (OGR which I don't).  There is no right or wrong here, we simply march 
to the beat of a different drummer.  If we stay "united", we'll wind up 
constantly tripping over each other.  The O guys learned that years ago, S is a 
little slow catching up.
