Good idea about the IdlerFlats. I see that in real life with long loads. They 
use idler flats all the time.

Nobody's mentioned so far that those Lionel O27 
gondolas are of the drop-end type, so another application is to remove the 
ends, 
narrow the remaining car  a little bit, then carry poles, I-beams, or 
anything else longer than the car.  If very long, use idler flats 
adjacent.
