All,
An old friend used something he called "Upson Board" for his layout's ballast
board. He claimed that it was just as good as Homasote. It is a paper based
product too. I've never tried it. I believe that it is still being
manufactured. If you can't find Homasote locally where you live; this product
might be a viable alternative for you to try?
