John is correct.  The SP (Pacific Lines) did not purchase any GP7s.  The Cotton 
Belt (SSW) purchased one GP7 that was intially painted in Daylight colors.  The 
SP had a boatload of GP9s.

Only three SP GP9s received the the roof mounted air tanks which were 
especially designed for a long distance passenger train that ran between San 
Jose and Monterey (Pacific Grove) called the Del Monte.

SP units were originally fitted with a wagon wheel antenna.  As far as I know, 
the only "hand rail" antenna (not sure what the Pennsy called it) used by the 
SP was on a few streamlined passenger cars in Daylight service.

Bob, excellent work.  Thank you for sharing.  I wish I had taken construction 
photos of my GP9s.  Your photos brought back some pleasant memories.
