BOB:
Oh, gee! I actually am a member of the Santa Fe Historical and Modeling
Society. Wish I could commit to being there for the weekend. Unfortunately, I
have opening day tickets for the Cardinals on Friday and again on Sunday
against those also-rans from Chicago. In addition, the monthly AFSGSLA meeting
is slated for Friday evening. Otherwise, I'd hop in the gas-guzzler and head
out for Iowa. I need a clone.

Bob (I spelled that right, didn't I? - Unca' Earl is watching!)

This is a mini-meet, the first of it's kind in Ft. Madison, with about fifty
registrations, so far. I don't belong to the Santa Fe Historical Society, but
agreed to open SHABBONA because it's one of only two operating layouts they
could find, and the only one in Ft. Madison.

The other is in Farmington, IA, about thirty minutes away. I guess everybody
else is awaiting the Perfect Day to start the Big One (been there, done that,
so I can understand, but don't sympathize). I wonder if I used the right bait
if I could lure in some S scale modelers from St. Louis, Rockford, or
Bloomington, etc. for a chance to participate (assist?) in operating the
railroad.

Kind of short notice and I don't have full particulars yet, myself. My
situation makes it impossible for me to offer overnight accommodations, but
there is a new Comfort Inn and a real nice Knight's Inn here in town if someone
needed them.

I have made solo one-day sojourns to S scale events in St. Louis, Chicago,
and even Milwaukee, so that's not out of the realm of possibility, either.
Well, back to reality, I'm still trying to "organize" the basement.
