I also built one but it was not a success for me and that could be related to the humidity problem I posted earlier. There is a lot of information out there regarding the amount of voltage that the flyswatter produces compared to the Noch applicator and it is a substantial difference. Wish I had the info handy but I can vouch for the Noch. One way to cut down on the cost of the Noch is to buy it with other modelers and share, which is what I did. John Currie in Reno
