Hello S Scalers:
Just the other day, I received my 0-6-0 from River Raisin.
Boy, does it run Smooth and Quite!

I installed a Tsunami Light Steam Decoder in it.
As I had wanted to use the 0-6-0 just for yard work and switching
(NO road work), I wanted my maximum speed to be under 20 scale mph.

Using DecoderPro3, I did the following:

I set my speed FIRST by using the "speed" Tab.
Check off "Use speed Table"
and from the pull down menu selected "User Defined Speed Table"
Then on the far right (step 28)
I slid the cursor down to a value of 62,
then clicked on "Match ends" and "Write Changes on Sheet"
For my loco, on my layout, this gives a maximum speed of about 18 mph.

AFTER setting the speed table, I adjusted the Chuff Sound to be about
four times per revolution of the drivers. So, under the "Sound" tab, I made
the "Engine Exhaust Control" a value of 36 [which is fairly close}

Under the DDE tab I adjusted the "Throttle Gain" to 185 and
the "Motor Load Gain" to 53

I also wanted the whistle to blow when ever I started up (forward and reverse),
and to have the breaks squeal when stopping, and the stem to blow when stopped.
Thus, under the ASC tab, I checked off the appropriate boxes then "Write
Changes on Sheet"

For the "Motor" Tab, I used an acceleration of a value of 8.
These settings work pretty well for me.

In the photos section, I made an album for 0-6-0DecoderPro
so that you can see these settings.

Please let me know what you may have done
I might like your settings better.

Thanks,
Jan
