Tom.....My former layout used code 125 rail and Old Pullman scale turnouts.  My 
recollection is that scale and high-rail worked OK in general.  AF equipment 
mostly bumped badly over the frog/guard rails, but stayed on the track -- most 
of the time.  A very few pieces of AF rolled along on the ties due to very 
large flanges and they did not do well going through turnouts.  I was surprised 
that AF had not standardized on their flange sizes.  Same comment could be made 
about Lionel/AF today -- 50 years later.  Good luck....Ed L.
