Earl,

I cannot assist you in distributing flyers about the NASG conventin, but I am
interested in the car. I, too, agree that it is a good choice. Although I
know very little about the NC&StL, I have seen photos of its box cars painted
in that scheme.

I have some questions about the car, though. I am aware of the criticisms of
the car but still have an interest in purchasing one. I know that back a few
years ago BRANCHLINE in HO produced a car painted in the stripe scheme, but it
was a car of 10' 6" IH.

I have seen photos of other NC&StL cars of what appears to be a shorter IH.
Lacking sufficient information on the extent of this paint scheme on box cars
of the road, do you know whether the AM car is close to a prototype. I fully
understand that it

Subject: {S-Scale List} Would you promote NASG Convention at Southeast train
events, esp NC&STL Mtg

In an effort to spread the word about the NASG Chattanooga Convention in
August, I am looking for S gaugers who plan to attend train-related events in
the Southeast. I can supply promotional flyers I have prepared on WORD.

My flyer has the photo representing the NC&StL yellow-striped boxcar that will
be the NASG Convention car. I think this car will get a positive reaction to a
lot of regional modelers who get exposed to it. And a few of them will be S
gaugers. (This car was a great choice!)

I just learned that the NC&StL Preservation Society has scheduled their annual
reunion in Jackson, TN on the weekend of May 18-20. If you plan on attending
this event or either Friday night or on Saturday, would you be willing to
distribute these flyers? If YES, please give me a reply.

My offer is not limited to the NC&StL event. If you would like to take
promotional flyers to other train-related events in the Southeast, please let
me know and I send you flyers.

My assumption, whether correct or not, is that most American Flyer operators
and collectors in the Southeast are not members of the NASG. Thus we need to
beat the bushes to let them know about the NASG and this convention that is
taking place in their back yard. So if you live in the Southeast and can help,
please do so.

Note-my interest is in the scale side of S. But I hope we can attract as many
S gaugers of all interests to the Chattanooga NASG. This should be a great
convention with all that Chattanooga has to offer. Here are a few of them I
can think of just off the top of my head:

    - Chattanooga Choo-choo
    - NMRA Headquarters and library
    - Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum
(including our own convention train excursion into north Georgia)
    - Many civil war attractions
    - World class aquariums
    - White water rafting
    - Great Smoky Mountains National Park within 2 1/2 hour drive
    - Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry within 2 hour (+) drive
    - And many other area attractions

Thanks,

Earl Henry, Nashville
