Jim, I like the heap shields. They are perfect for the railroads I model
and I plan on ordering some. I need to check out my coal hopper fleet to
determine how many.

I am somewhat concerned with how these can be sturdily attached to the coal
 hoppers?

I’ve created a new S scale page (link is below) depicting 3 freight car
details.
The PS-3 heap shield design is completed; patterns will be ordered next
week and production will commence in early May. This is in direct response
to a current S Scale poll on the Yahoo list created by George Courtney.
Please contact me off-list re: purchase of any items shown (or other S items
shown elsewhere on my web site).

The side sill steps were produced as part of previous freight car kits no
longer being made. The steps are in-stock and available for immediate
shipment but if you’ll be purchasing the heap shield, I suggest combining your
order to save on postage (all small items are shipped via 1st Class Mail).
