All..
For those planning to fly to the NASG Convention in Chattanooga this summer,
you might want to know that Southwest Airlines is now serving Atlanta.
Southwest (as part of their purchase of AirTran) has converted about half of
the old AirTran gates and check-in counters to Southwest and began offering
Atlanta Southwest service on Feb. 15th.
Both Atlanta and Nashville now provide Southwest Airlines service and BOTH are
two hours driving time from Chattanooga (one north & one south). When I last
checked, the Southwest fares were better into Atlanta because they are
competing head-to-head with Delta (Yeah!). Rental car rates were also more
competitive in Atlanta. Check the various web sites for current schedules and
rates.
>From Atlanta it is a straight run north on I-75 to Chattanooga. From
>Nashville it is a straight run south on I-24.
There will also be some S layout open houses in the Atlanta area before and
after the convention. More to come later on this later.
