Archer recently added the S scale specific rivets, so they are the way to go (although somewhat more expensive). I have some of their small O scale rivets, purchased before they released S scale, that work well for large S. I didn't expect them to produce S specific decals, so I'm pleasantly surprised and intend to support their decision on future purchases.
Archer also originated the concept, so if you prefer to reward the inventor over an imitator then definitely go with Archer. Pieter E.
