Hi Charles.

Thanks to you and the rest of the list members for your compliments.  The
oldest elements of our display are now 6 years old and therefore are expected
to show well to the public.  We always try to work on our modules between shows
so that we have have a little more "value added" for the ticket buying public.
It's always gratifying therefore when they linger to talk to us about S scale
and our layout.

I'd like to give a special shout out to our newest group member, John Johnston,
who debuted his Burnt River Siding module...a wonderfully executed rural scene
with his kit-bashed through truss bridge as its centrepoint.  John built it out
of Atlas and Plastruct components, along with some styrene.  It's a scene I
always though would look good with the rest of the modules, and John must have
been reading our minds.

It was good to meet you Charles and also to see our other Quebec friend and
group member Simon Parent.  Because of the distances, Simon can not often join
us, but this show was a comfortable driving distance for him.

As our group ages these road trips seem to get a little more grueling, so we'll
probably take the next six seven months off to get ready for Springfield next
January.

Cheers,
Jim

Subject: RE: {S-Scale List} S Scale Workshop in Ottawa

Hi there!

I was very happy to see the members of the S Scale Workshop in Ottawa Sunday,
as well as their very fine modular layout... I took a number of photos with my
not very high resolution digital camera [it is a somewhat oldy 2.1 megapixel
Nikon Coolpix 950.
.
the only camera I found that could be plugged to my Amiga computer ;) ] ...and
I'll post them on AMINET [http://aminet.net] very soon, if they (the club
members) do not mind, of course!

Now as I said to some of them: if only they could come to the Laval
Expo-Trains... that would be awesome...! ;)

One thing I must say, as I live in the Quebec Laurentians [In St Adolphe
d'Howard to be precise], it is not very often that I can see other S scalers...
they are almost all at least 500 miles from where I live, and as I hate to
drive more than 200 kilo
m
eters, pardon me, I should say 120 miles :) ...and I was ecstatic when I have
seen that the SSW would come to a place that is almost next door to where I am
located!

Lastly, a very big thank you to the members of the S Scale Workshop to give us
the opportunity to see their modular layout in Ottawa...!

See ya all...

Charles Jacob.
